Leadership Courses

Dive Master – This is the first step in leadership. During the Dive Master course you will learn to organize dive trips, give dive briefings, safety checks, assist divers with their equipment, assist the Instructor in guided dives and assist the Instructor in the classroom, pool and open water.

Prerequisites and Requirements:

• Age: Minimum 18 years
• Logged dives in environment and depth
• Certification as a Rescue Diver with CPR/First Aid. If the candidate does not have the knowledge of oxygen administration, a four hour course with 3 dives will be required. (extra fee)
• Verification of good health condition documented by a physician
• Equipment – Leadership candidates shall furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of their own equipment.

This course spans 7 days - Cost $1,000.US

Assistant Instructor Course – This course is designed to introduce students to diving instruction basics. It will also test individuals in the water skills needed to be capable assistants.

Prerequisite Skills:

• Teaching Skills – classroom
• 50 Logged Dives
• Swimming Skills
• Skin Diving Skills
• Assisting Skills – Confined and Open Water
• Debriefing

This course spans 7 days - Cost $1,200.US

Skin Diving Instructor Course – This course is designed for leadership level skin diving instructors who will train and qualify persons and issue skin diving certifications in (breath – hold) diving. You will gain the knowledge and skill to operate a skin diving course. Topic covered include finances, promotion, course contents, legal aspects, insurance.

Prerequisites:

• Certified Skin or Scuba Diver
• Minimum of 25 logged skin dives
• Knowledge of how, who, when, where, what and why of diving

This course spans 7 days - Cost $ 1,500.US

Instructor Training Course (ITC) – The ITC is designed to train and qualify instructor candidates. During the course candidates learn effective methods to teach skin and scuba diving in compliance with NAUI-PDIC-HSA course standards.

Prerequisites:

• Passing the NAUI-PDIC-HSA Instructor Prequalification Exam with a score of 75% or better
• Dive Certification – Dive Master, Assistant Instructor
  or a NAUI Prep program completed within the last 12 months
• Equipment – provide and be responsible for own instructor level diving equipment, suitable for teaching
• Experience – 50 logged dives – varied in environment, depth and activities

This course includes:

Room and Board, 3 meals a day, books and materials, transfers and paperwork.

Each successful Instructor candidate is responsible for his/her own Dive Instructor insurance.
